The Southern Scene is a communication tool implemented with the goal of creating community amongst the many Southern team members stretched across the southeast. The Southern Scene works much like popular social media newsfeeds with the hope that our team members can connect about work-related content, relate to each other and create productive discussions that positively impact our work culture. Members are able to tag team members, share photos, or attempt to pick the perfect GIF response.

ALL Southern Industries Home Improvements team members are eligible to use The Southern Scene in their day to day routines. If you have a One Southern login, you can read and post in The Southern Scene.

Intracompany communication and fellowship are critical for organizational success, and there’s a wealth of statistical data that underscores their importance. Here are some key statistics and findings:

Increased Productivity:

  • According to a report by McKinsey, companies with effective communication are 25% more productive than those with poor communication. Effective intracompany communication helps streamline workflows and reduces duplication of efforts.

Employee Engagement and Satisfaction:

  • Gallup’s State of the Global Workplace report highlights that organizations with highly engaged employees see 21% higher profitability and 20% higher sales. Strong intracompany communication fosters engagement by ensuring employees feel informed and involved.

Reduced Employee Turnover:

  • A survey by the Corporate Leadership Council found that effective communication can reduce employee turnover by up to 50%. When employees feel they are kept in the loop and their input is valued, they are less likely to leave.

Enhanced Collaboration:

  • A study published in the Harvard Business Review found that organizations with high levels of interdepartmental communication experience 25% higher collaborative performance compared to those with siloed communication.

Improved Project Outcomes:

  • Research by the Project Management Institute (PMI) reveals that projects with effective communication practices are 80% more likely to be completed on time and within budget.

Better Customer Service:

  • According to a study by the Aberdeen Group, companies with effective internal communication have a 23% higher customer satisfaction rate. Effective communication helps ensure that customer service teams are aligned and informed.

Higher Innovation Rates:

  • A report by the Institute for Corporate Productivity (i4cp) found that companies with strong internal communication are 4.5 times more likely to be high-performing in innovation compared to those with weaker communication practices.

Fostering a Positive Work Culture:

  • A survey by TinyPulse found that employees who feel their company communicates effectively are 36% more likely to have a positive view of their company’s culture.

These statistics illustrate that intracompany communication and fellowship are not just about keeping everyone informed; they are integral to achieving higher productivity, better employee retention, enhanced collaboration, and overall organizational success.
